Collection: Iwai Dyeing × Whole Love Kyoto
These items are made from fabric dyed using the traditional "kata-yuzen" technique by Iwai Dyeing , a long-established dyeing workshop in Kyoto that has been in business for over 100 years since the early Meiji period.
"Kata-yuzen" is a dyeing technique in which patterns are carved into washi paper coated with persimmon tannins and then used to dye the fabric. The delicate small patterns that Iwai Senko specializes in look beautiful on the fabric.
