Making early summer Kyoto confectionery "Minazuki" with Shioyoshiken - Kyoto Craftsmen WORKSHOP 2026 Spring

A workshop to experience Kyoto's traditional culture, learn its essence, and enjoy it with all five senses, all from the comfort of your home.

For this session, we welcome Keita Takaie (5th generation head of "Shioyoshiken," a confectionery shop in Nishijin, Kyoto) as our instructor. We will learn about Kyoto's wagashi (Japanese confectionery) culture and seasonal events, focusing on the Kyoto confectionery "Minazuki."

This is an online course where you can have an "authentic" experience of traditional culture with Kyoto artisans, in real-time, using your PC or tablet.After registering, a special ingredient kit will be delivered to your home before the workshop begins.

Through making Minazuki, you will touch upon the culture behind it and experience Kyoto from your own home.
