MADE IN JAPAN
The sneakers are made by MOONSTAR, a shoemaker that has been crafting footwear in Kurume, Fukuoka for over 100 years. Every “HANAO” is handcrafted by Japanese craftsmen.

- Sole: Synthetic rubber
Comfort
The “HANAO” doesn’t pass through to the inside of the shoe, so you can wear HANAO SHOES with socks. The soft, flexible sole keeps your feet comfortable, even on long walks.
Attaching & Removing the HANAO Change your “HANAO” in seconds, no tools needed.
You can easily remove and change the “HANAO” on your HANAO SHOES yourself.
- Thread one end of the “HANAO” through the loop at the toe of the sneaker.
- Fold the “HANAO” in half at the center.
- Pass each end through the loops on both sides of the sneaker, then fasten with the buttons.
- Slip your feet in and adjust the shape of the “HANAO.” That’s it!
Please remove the “HANAO” on rainy days and when caring for your shoes.
Each “HANAO” is filled with cotton and paperboard, so getting it wet may cause it to lose its shape.
岩部保多織本舗 / 創業1893年 (明治26年)
約400年前に高松藩で誕生した保多織（ぼたおり）の伝統を受け継ぐ老舗。
「多年を保つ」という名の通り、経糸・緯糸を複数本ずつ組み合わせて織り上げる技法により、非常に丈夫で長持ちすることが特徴です。この織りから生まれる独特の凹凸と風合いは、肌触りの良さと優れた吸湿性を兼ね備えています。
日本人の足元を彩ってきた“鼻緒”
「HANAO SHOES」は、何百年も前から草履や下駄にすげられ、日本人の足元を彩ってきた“鼻緒”を現代のスニーカーに挿げた新定番。「HANAO SHOES JAPAN」(2023年春)では47都道府県の地場染織物で47種類のHANAO SHOESを制作。
そして2024年春、ニューバージョンとして、お客様自身で鼻緒を付け替えることのできるHANAO SHOESが誕生しました。
鼻緒を選び、自分でスニーカーにすげる
ボディのスニーカーに黒色が追加され、鼻緒の取り外しができる仕様に変わり、スニーカーの型もよりスマートに。
一足を持つだけで、自分のスタイルに合わせたHANAO SHOESへカスタムできるようになりました。スニーカーはMOON STAR(久留米)、鼻緒は全て日本の職人による手仕事です。
履くのは、晴れの日に
鼻緒の中に、綿と型紙が入っているため水に濡れると型崩れしてしまいます。長く履き続けるために雨の日や靴を洗う時は、鼻緒を取り外すことを推奨します。
鼻緒の生地によって手入れ方法が変わるので、お気軽にお問い合わせください。
