Kogin embroidery

Kogin embroidery is a sashiko technique that is passed down mainly in the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture. Natsujiro Shoten uses this technique to create mismatched hanao straps, stitch by stitch, all by hand. Each kogin embroidery pattern has a meaning, and each finished hanao is unique.
