Satake Glass continues to produce colored glass using the same manufacturing methods as when the company was founded.
The glass rods used in eda are handcrafted by Satake Glass Co., Ltd., a long-established company in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture. Since its founding in 1927, the colored glass rods have been made using the same process and boast a high domestic market share as materials for glass beads and other glass crafts. Currently, Satake Glass is the only company in Japan that continues to use this manufacturing method.
The individual differences and variations that occur during the handmade process give the glass a delicate expression.
