03 マグリットいいね

03 Magritte is great.

I want to give you a tip for shopping at a museum gift shop.
That is, buy something that makes you think, "Who would buy this?"
The worst thing to do is buy a postcard of a work of art that moved you at the museum and give it to someone else.
It might be okay to send it, as it's nice to receive a letter.
But if it's given as a souvenir, that emotion is hard to convey, probably not even 1% of it.
Buying it for yourself is probably fine. But since that emotion certainly can't be contained in a postcard, you often regret it later.

The reason I recommend buying something that makes you think, "Who would buy this?" is because it won't be re-produced. It doesn't sell, after all. In this age where the world is overflowing with goods, and the same items are available not only on that day and in that place, but anytime and anywhere (even online), something that will never be produced again has value not just in its rarity.
What I want you to consider is the fact that there are "people who made" something that no one would want, no matter how you look at it, and "people who decided" to make and sell it.
Isn't that interesting?

By the way, I bought this at the Magritte Museum in Brussels.
However, I think this is a popular item.
